Kenny Churchill Biography

kenny churchillKenny Churchill was the founder of the World Cup Bull Riders in 1999. While teaching bull riding schools Kenny began getting students from Brazil, Mexico and Guatemala. Kenny took a strong interest in learning about the Brazilian cowboys because of their talent. Kenny learnd a lot through two students, Gustavo Silva and Claudio Almeida from Brazil. After studying the demographics of the Brazilians it became a fascinating market to Kenny. He had found a measurement of over 200,000 Brazilians in the greater Boston areas, right in his own back yard.

After learning and meeting Lilliane Souza and her family, owners of the Brazilian Times newspaper. Kenny began structuring the first World Cup event. In 2000 Kenny formed the first World Cup in Marshfield, Massachusetts. The WCBR had bull riders from the United States, Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico and Canada.

kenny churchillCreating a Brazilian atmosphere with an American atmosphere drew as many as 10,000 fans. Kenny then began working on recognizing the Latino Cultures. These cultures consisted of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador. Kenny has had as many as three languages working in the arena simultaneously. There was an American announcer, Brazilian announcer, and an announcer from Guatemala. This left a great impression to a lot of people. Comments were made that you would have to see it to believe it, everything ran as if it was rehearsed.

Kenny has had as many as eight country's at a single event USA, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Japan and Australia. Most of the World Cup events have been held on the East coast, reason being because of the strength of the Brazilian and Latino demographics. In 2008 the WCBR will be expanding more towards the West coast and looking to expand to other Country's.

As VP of Sales, Shaw oversaw 53 offices generating $20,000,000 in sales volume per month including hiring brokers, managers, regional managers, training, and development of sales materials. Personal production was ranked 5th out of over 1500 reps.

Shaw was the founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Bull Riders Only from 1989-1997. Bull Riders Only separated bull riding from rodeo into it's own sport, league and series designed specifically for television. The industry founded by Mr. Sullivan sold 2/3 of the premier organization the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) for $90 million to Spire Capital, and at one point BRO was the largest shareholder in the PBR.

Produced 130 live and televised bull riding events in three countries with live attendance over 9 million.

Produced 10 videos distributed through Kmart, Walmart and Target through Cabin Fever Entertainment. Raised investment dollars to fund company and sponsorship money in excess of $20,000,000

Sold first ever Network Prime Time rodeo event to FOX, garnering the largest rating ever for a rodeo type event with a 4.1 in 1997 that has not yet been equaled.

Produced 39 "Bullmania" shows for the Outdoor Life Network and Fox Sports Net.

Shaw was involved in the pre-production and production of 8 Seconds and Painted Hero (starring Dwight Yokum) including 2nd Unit Production and Technical Advice.

2nd Unit Producer for National Spots for Wrangler, Chevy Trucks and Coors and an international spot for Wrangler (Listed on imdb.com the TV and film industry data base of accredited professionals).

Shaw produced nine international events in Brazil including Goiania which boasted attendance of over one million people in 14 days.

Shaw trademarked the phrase Cowboy Up which is one of the largest selling trademarks in the Western Industry to this day, through his company Superbull Series, Inc, dba Bull Riders Only.

The Professional Bull Riders alone last year did over $50 million in revenue and there are nearly 5,000 bull riding only competitions in 2005.

2002 through 2004 Shaw was the COO of Wonderland Entertainment, a feature film company owned by Marc Rocco who directed Murder in the First with Christian Slater, Gary Oldman and Kevin Bacon. And Marc, directed Where The Day Takes You starring Will Smith, Laura Flynn Boyle, Dermott Mulroney, Sean Astin. In all Marc has directed five films and produced the 2005 release "The Jacket".
